Robert S. Houser Of Near Hillsboro Succumbs At 41

HILLSBORO

Robert S. Houser, 41, died Saturday evening in an ambulance en route to a hospital at Danville, Ill., after suffering a heart attack while watching television at his farm home near here. Mr. Houser and his wife, Sylvia, had just returned home from a trip here when he was stricken. He was born June 12, 1921 on the same farm where he suffered the fatal attack. He was a son of Martyn and Ethel Brewer Houser. He was married April 5, 1947 to Sylvia Douglas of Veedersburg. Mr. Houser was a graduate of Hillsboro High School and a veteran of World War II. He farmed near here most of his life. Survivors include the wife; four daughters, Diana Sue, Catherine Louise, Peggy Ann and Linda Mae, all at home; two brothers, James of Veedersburg and John of near Crawfordsville; and two sisters, Mrs. Mabel Frye of Hillsboro and Mrs. Marguerite Tate of Chicago. The body was brought to the Crumley Funeral Home here where services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday with Rev. Charles Sites in charge. Rev. Sites will be assisted by Rev. Bertha Knox. Military graveside rites will be conducted by the Hillsboro American Legion Post at Rockfield Cemetery west of here. Friends may pay their respects at the funeral home after 4 p.m. Monday.
